Summary

Candidate will be responsible for supporting the installation, set-up, diagnosis and maintenance of software and hardware at the National Office.

Duties

Under the supervision of the Systems Administrator, the duties and responsibilities of the IT Intern, include but are not limited to:

  • Provide IT support to all staff (local and remote) before, during, and after the national convention
  • Respond to emergency requests
  • Provide repair and configuration services for workstations, printers, faxes, scanners at the National Office
  • Train and assist all staff on the correct usage of personal computers, hardware, software and peripherals
  • Perform computer updates relating to security and performance
  • Maintain inventory of all computer equipment
  • Provide backup support as needed for the System Administrator
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Information Technology

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years experience and formal training is required in software and hardware installation and support; related degree is strongly preferred
  • Experience required in computer setup and repair, software installation and maintenance, and system diagnostics
  • Applicants should have extensive knowledge of current operating systems such as Windows 2000, Windows XP and Unix/Linux
  • Candidate should be able to maintain confidentiality of proprietary data
  • Must be able to work on computer equipment for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift objects up to 30 pounds

Work Conditions

  • Core hours are approximately 37.5 per week; however, there is the possibility of non-standard hours, including weekends and overtime hours, based on business needs
