I pledge to support films that employ people of color on both sides of the camera. I stand with the NAACP in calling on studio executives to hire more people of color in Hollywood and to produce stories of people of color.
Throughout history no other nation has had the breadth of diversity as the United States, and few mediums have the power of film to influence culture and capture the historic uniqueness of the American story.
I recognize that film is one of America’s most important economic exports and that as an American there is a public responsibility to support projects that show the world the diverse stories and experiences that make up the American narrative.
Together we can bring about critical change to an industry that must be representative of the American experience. I promise I will do my part by voting with my pocket book and encouraging my family, friends and coworkers to support this effort.
