Stand With the Maine NAACP

Sign Up to Participate in the MLK Day March

Last week, the Maine NAACP invited Governor Paul LePage to participate in Monday’s Martin Luther King, Jr. observance in Portland. The governor’s response was shocking. Calling the NAACP a “special interest group,” he told reporters that “the NAACP can kiss my butt.”

You can support the Maine NAACP and take a stand for civility in our public discourse. If you are in the area, come out and support the March for Justice (details here). If not, sign your name below to let the Maine NAACP know you are on their side. We will pass your message along, and you will be a virtual participant in the Maine NAACP’s King Day Observances.

As Martin Luther King said, “Justice at its best is power correcting everything that stands against love.”  What better way to commemorate this weekend than to face vulgarity and intolerance with love.
